Nirvaan, the Annual Entrepreneurship Event at IIM Lucknow would be
conducted conducted by Abhiyan in August/September 2006. It is an
initiative guided towards fostering the spirit of entrepreneurship
among the younger generation of India. Nirvaan showcases the best of
India’s entrepreneurs, allows the participants get a chance to
interact closely with them, to understand what goes into making
India’s top entrepreneurs. Our guest at Nirvaan 2005 included Raman
Roy, widely regarded as the pioneer and guru of the IT-enabled
services business in India; Sanjeev Bikhchandani is the CEO and
co-founder of Naukri.com; Sanjay Bhargava, Founder Paypal and an IIM
Ahmedabad Gold medalist, who has been pioneering the concept of
social entrepreneurship through ventures like SuVyapar.
Nirvaan would be having representatives from Venture Capitalist
firms a well as a team of investors. Last year, Indiaco Venture
capital and Band of angels were our Partners. Indiaco is an
organization that funds startups in the field of nanotechnology from
the start up stage. The Band of Angels, on the other hand, is a
group of entrepreneurs who have taken it upon themselves to fund
startups from the seed stage in order to help budding entrepreneurs.
The eminent evaluation team comprised of angel investors like Sanjay
Bhargava (Founder Paypal), Alok Mittal, and Nihal Nevki who is a
Venture Capitalist from Indiaco.
