Life
at IIM Lucknow
Classes
Begin
at 8:00 AM. Classes comprise lectures, case studies and
presentations designed by the faculty to equip students
with the skills required to excel in the corporate world.
The lectures extend from one hour to an hour and a half.
The methodology of evaluation usually consists of group/individual
assignments, project work, quizzes, and examinations. Typically,
a class provides an interactive atmosphere that stimulates
thoughts and ideas, while the students internalize various
concepts. The discussions are sometimes raucous debates
and at other times a formal exchange of ideas. The end products
are managers who can adapt to different situations and can
analyse issues clinically.
Academic
evaluation
IIM
Lucknow follows a credit system wherein each credit involves
30 contact hours with typically 100 hours of study required.
The evaluation is based on a ten-point system with grades
ranging from A+ equivalent to 10 points to F, equivalent
to 0 points.

Leaders in their respective areas, the members of the
faculty are drawn from various fields of management. Besides
conducting regular classes and the MDP (Management Development
Program for continuing executive education), the faculty
conducts independent research and offer consulting services
to business organizations. The Institute provides on-campus
family lodgings to all permanent administrative and teaching
staff; so they are available to students at all hours for
personal attention.

Learning
Beyond The Classroom
Opportunities
abound at IIML. Most extra curricular and value adding activities
are initiated and carried forward by the students themselves
in conjunction with a very co operative and encouraging
faculty. The International Students’ Exchange Committee is one
such committee specifically set up to work in unison with
the Chairman-Financial Aid & International Linkages in an effort
to forge new alliances with the premier management institutes
all over the world. It also aids in facilitating the passage
of IIML students to foreign universities. In addition, it
provides assistance to the various foreign students who
come here from the participating schools and ensures that
they get a glimpse of our culture.

A
plethora of sports facilities are available on campus. These
include a Football and Cricket field; Basketball, Volleyball,
Tennis and Badminton courts; and an indoor recreation hall
for Badminton and Table Tennis. A state of the art swimming pool and a

Circles. In addition, our students participate in case study
contests held across India.

Life
At Lucknow
Lucknow
is the capital of India's most populous state - Uttar Pradesh.
This city is evocative of a lifestyle long gone by – only
vestiges are still to be found in Lucknow’s mannerisms and
habits. Lucknow was the abode of the Nawabs of Avadh, and
their regal pastimes and pleasures were legendary. They
conversed in an exquisitely refined manner, were fond of
song and dances. Their monuments excelled in the use of
arches, pavilions and domes. Lucknow also continues to be
home to the fine chikan embroidery executed with fine skill
on fabrics, sarees and kurtas.

Music
Apart
from the musicians of the court, and courtiers - among them
some of the Nawabs themselves - tawaifs (courtesans) were
often the centre of cultural life of the city, becoming
proficient as poets and in dance and song. Folk music is
very popular too.

areas
The bazaars of Aminabad
and Chowk are interesting even if you are window-shopping.
In fact, there are few showrooms here; most of the shops
flow into the streets with vendors sitting with their wares
on the roads. Wholesale markets sell a wide range of goods:
antique furniture, furnishings, utensils, dress materials.
